About Nichols Driving School

Nichols Driving School provides superior driver education to teens and adults. We teach the Massachusetts driver license courses in Easthampton.

Nichols Driving School has been in operation since the 1930s, with a few changes of ownership since then. In 1985, Sherry Whitmore bought Nichols Driving School and successfully ran the business for over 30 years. In January 2019, Sherry's daughter, Bobbi Jo Cliche became the current owner.


Our Staff

Bobbi Jo Cliche

Bobbi has been a professional certified driver education instructor since 1998. She has worked throughout the years with her mother at Nichols Driving school along with other driving schools in the Hampden and Hampshire county areas. "Being a certified Driver Education Instructor for over 20 years has helped me gain the experience and knowledge to educate and assist the wide variety of individuals that we work with on a daily basis"

Sharon Whitmore (AKA: Sherry)

In 1985 Sharon Whitmore, (AKA Sherry) bought Nichols Driving School and successfully ran the business for over 30 years. In 2018 Sherry decided to retire and pass the business down to her daughter Bobbi. Sherry has been a certified professional driver education instructor for over 35 years. She may be retired now from running the driving school business, but she still likes to come back and teach in the car every now and then.


Heather Mason

Heather has been a certified professional driver education instructor since 2004. She currently works full time as a paraprofessional at an elementary school in Holyoke and has worked part-time as a driver education instructor for Nichols Driving School for over fifteen years.

Stephanie Murphy

Stephanie has been a certified professional driver education instructor since 2017. She is the niece of Bobbi (the owner) and has watched her aunt teach driver education for a good majority of her childhood and into her adult years. Stephanie obtained her driver's license when as a teenager with the help of her aunt. She has always wanted to be a driver education instructor and enjoys working with the students.


Thomas Lamica

Tom has been a certified professional driver education instructor since 2011. From 1987-1992, he was an active duty USAF military and in 1992, Tom became a civilian police officer while also serving in the USAF reserves. Tom retired in 2004 and began working as a paraprofessional in the Springfield School system from 2005 to 2010. In 2005, Tom started his own Disc jockey service called Excalibur DJ. When Tom is not DJ-ing events, he works part-time as one of our driver education instructor and volunteers for the non-profit veteran organization, Project New Hope in Westfield.

Cody Hanlon

Cody has been a certified professional driver education instructor since September of 2020. He is a twin to Boyen, the son of Bobbi (the owner) and the grandson of Sherry (previous owner of Nichols Driving school) Driver education runs in the family and he will be the next generation to assist and run the family driving school business.
